Riverside
A restaurant with a view “Osta” is located in a great location, on the left bank of the Daugava river, creating a fantastic atmosphere, as you can immerse yourself and watch the daily life of the Daugava river for hours — fishing boats passing by, ships entering the port and simply the soothing flow of the river. The view of the old town opens from an unusual angle, and the rush of the city seems to be observed from a safe distance, creating a feeling that nothing can disturb our peace of mind. Directly across the river, you see the historic grain elevator of the port of Riga and other industrial facilities of the port, providing completely different emotions and a view of Andrejsala and its surroundings.
Yachting club “Ostas skati”
Thanks to the fact that the “Ostas skati” yacht club is located near the restaurant, guests have the opportunity to come to us from various places in the city with one of the boats offering a scheduled service on the Daugava river, as well as with their own yacht or boat. A separate mooring area is reserved for the guests of the restaurant and the yacht club, where you can always stop by to enjoy a meal or drink with us, and we also offer takeaway food to make your trip on the Daugava river more special. In cooperation with the yacht club, we also provide trips on the Daugava river supplemented with dinner in the restaurant, as well as similar special events.
Ķīpsala
Historically, Ķīpsala originated as a fishing village on the left bank of the Daugava river. The territory experienced industrialization in the 18th and 19th centuries, becoming one of Riga's main transshipment and mooring places for ships in Riga.
Thanks to its location, today Ķīpsala is a place where historic wooden buildings, more than 150-year-old cobbled streets of the fishermen’s village and other noteworthy objects, which have been preserved intact to this day, can be found in the middle of the city. Thanks to its location and historical buildings, Ķīpsala is a great destination for walks outside the usual city centre, a place where you can have a look at Old Riga and the ports of Riga from a different angle. An island with its own history and character in the modern rapidly advancing capital.
